Computer Science Lesson Plan
Class: 5 - Lesson: 10 Presentation (Own Presentation) and Animations Using AI

Purpose: To create your own presentations, and to teach students how to use AI tools to turn simple drawings into animated characters. To enhance creativity and digital skills through fun and interactive learning.

No. of Classes

One or two classes (teacher's decision).

Material Required

OpenOffice, browser.

Prior Knowledge

Students should know:

  • The properties or formatting tool.
  • How to insert a picture.
  • How to present using 'Impress'.
  • Exercise

    Exercise 1

    1. Draw a simple doodle. Students can create the doodle in any of the following ways:

    ⟹Step 1: Tux Paint

⟹Use their own photo for the activity

    ⟹Use a scanned image of a hand-drawn doodle

⟹Download a doodle or image from the internet

⟹Step 2: Animate the simple doodle and create an animation file using:

    Exercise 2

    1. Create your own presentation using all the properties, and use the animated image in it.

    Solution

    Teacher Instructions
    1. Using Tux Paint is optional - students can draw on paper or use downloaded images.
    2. Encourage students to experiment with different types of drawings. For example, ask them to create doodles without hands or legs and observe how this affects the animation output.
    3. Guide students to observe carefully how their simple drawings are transformed into animated characters, and encourage them to reflect on this process.
    4. The presentation can be in English or in Tamil.
    5. What happens if the drawing is missing some body parts - can the AI still animate it correctly? Click here
